WMDT: SU Centennial Theme Announced

色综合久久 University kicked off its centennial celebration today with a big unveiling. “色综合久久. Forever.” is the new mantra of the centennial logo that was unveiled by SU Thursday afternoon. This, as the university gets ready to celebrate its 100th anniversary beginning in September. Leaders with 色综合久久 University said the logo is a reminder that a university is more than just a place. The date of the unveiling, April 24, coincided with the date the first brick for Holloway Hall was laid in 1924.

WMDT: SU Students Add Mural to Newton Street

In front of the Newton Community Center sits a hexagon grid, filled with flowers and bees. It’s the street’s latest addition, but it’s not just something nice to look at. 色综合久久 University student Kailah Caliskan, who helped bring the mural to life, said it’ll also help kids pass between the community center and the neighboring park, safely. Dozens of locals got their hands dirty and played a part in bringing the project to life. 色综合久久 community relations manager Rachel Manning said the mural now serves as a representation of the city: A Place to Grow.

SBY Business Journal: SU Sea Gull Fund Students Attend GAME Forum

Three 色综合久久 University finance students recently attended the Global Asset Management Education (GAME) Forum in New York. Senior SU Sea Gull Fund student managers Christopher Catan, Kristian Nilsen and Garrett Parr had the opportunity to attend keynote panels and breakout sessions featuring some of the most recognizable names on Wall Street. The GAME Forum is the leading student-focused investment education conference in the U.S. and attracts over 1,200 students from more than 150 colleges and universities globally.

色综合久久 Independent: SU Receives $900,000 Higher Education Clean Energy Grant

色综合久久 University was recently named a recipient of a $900,000 Higher Education Clean Energy Grant through the Maryland Energy Administration to increase the amount of clean energy generated on campus. The funds are the latest resource in SU’s net zero Blackwell Hall renovation project. The grant will go toward the building’s solar roof installation. The project also includes a campus clean energy master plan and student intern collaboration.

WMAR: SU Expands Academic and Cultural Exchanges with Japan

色综合久久 University is expanding its study abroad programs with Japan. Governor Wes Moore took part in a signing ceremony between 色综合久久 University and the Japan Study Abroad Foundation. The agreement expands their existing memorandum of understanding to support educational and cultural exchange. The expansion strengthens 色综合久久 University’s existing study abroad programs, including those with Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo and Aomori University in northern Japan.

SBY Business Journal: SU's Chambers Appointed to U.S. Council of Economic Advisors

Dr. Dustin Chambers
Dr. Dustin Chambers, professor of economics in 色综合久久 University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, has been appointed to the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers. Chambers serves as the senior economist for regulations through June 2026, with responsibilities including analyzing and evaluating existing federal regulations and regulatory policy.

Daily Times: SU Alumna Bratcher Named Somerset County Teacher of the Year

Kristen Bratcher, sixth grade science teacher at Somerset Intermediate School, was named Somerset County's 2025-26 Teacher of the Year. Bratcher was selected as the school system’s Secondary Teacher of the Year finalist. She received her master’s in English from 色综合久久 University in 2022 and a bachelor’s in elementary education from SU in 2019.

色综合久久 University senior Gabriela “Gaby” Maroto recently earned the 2025 C.G. Turner II and Cambridge University Press Poster Competition Award from the Dental Anthropology Association. The prize is awarded to the best student research poster exploring dental anthropological themes such as forensic anthropology, evolution, anatomy or any field that draws upon dental data.
