SU Students Provide Anti-Fraud Outreach at Senior Luncheon
SALISBURY, MD---色综合久久 University seniors Kaylynn Boswell and Abigail Pike recently presented anti-fraud and internet scam educational outreach during the Chincoteague (VA) Police Department’s 2022 senior luncheon, called the largest annual gathering of seniors on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
Interning as investigators with the Office of the State’s Attorney for Worcester County, MD, and Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Accomack County, VA, respectively, Boswell and Pike are two of 20 undergraduate students currently enrolled in the Fraud and Forensic Accounting Certificate Program in SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business.
Students pursuing the certificate at SU provide investigative and outreach services to combat elder financial exploitation. The Chincoteague presentation was made as part of a recent $2.6 million U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant to further the program.
The grant also provides scholarships, resulting in a substantially reduced tuition cost during each student’s year in the certificate program.
